Amazing and reliable car
Nov 15, 2023
I do not know why people say BMWs are unreliable my 2005 325I has been very reliable and drives very nice. I did have to replace the control arms multiple times because those rear bushings ware out kind of fast also I had to replace the air flow meter once but besides those things and regular service like brakes, tires and fluid changes the car has been rock solid. I think the reason why people complain is because they do not take good care of it and end up abusing it. Anyhow I have over 200,000 miles on my car and it is not showing any signs that it is about to quit on me.

Very good car for those of us that enjoy driving
Nov 22, 2023
The 05 year is the last year of the E46 3 series accept for the 2 door/convertibles there are some 06 carryovers but if you wanted to get a 4 door sedan 05 is the last year before they started the E90 gen BMWs. I currently own both generations and my favorite by far is the E46 (97-06). It is the last year of that gen so it is the best version. The thing I love the most about it that with a manual transmission and a very good wait distribution and a stiff chassis It feels very balanced and mechanical and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. I actually snapped a rear sway bar link and did not notice it right away, thats how good this chassis is. The car is also relativly easy to work on. Granted some things still require special tools and scanners but for the most part the car is reliable and can easily go 200k. I have over 200k on mine with very basic maintenance. The thing that saddens me the most is that I know that BMW will never make cars like this again.
